The Yukon Trail, by the Minnesota Educational Computing Corporation (Mecc), is an exploration of the Yukon gold rush of 1897. Players must select a partner, purchase supplies and make it to the town of Dawson in order to strike it rich in the Yukon gold fields.

Along the way, mishaps steal time and supplies from players on the trail. In addition, players must build their own boat to get down river to Dawson. If they are lucky enough to make it to town, players must search for a claim that has gold, stake it, and find out their winnings. Lucky players will find themselves with a fortune in gold, like Ethel Berry and her husband, who came home with over $140,000 dollars in gold.

Along the way, players will get to meet with both real historical figures who took part in the Yukon gold rush and other characters who represent miners who failed, people who didn't even get to the Yukon and more. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
