Time Killers is a traditional fighting game featuring eight warriors from different periods in the earth's history. Chronos the god of time, approaches each of the warriors and promises them immortality if the can defeat the other seven warriors. Chronos convinces each warrior that the other Time Killers are evil and are bent on destroying time itself.
The warriors must defeat all seven opponents and then a mirror image of him/herself. Once the warrior has dispatched all eight enemies, he/she learns that Death had disguised itself as Chronos and lied about the other Time Killers. Death tricked the warriors into killing the others because all of them had refused to die when called. When the victorious warrior learns of Death's trickery, he/she challenges the dark lord to a final battle. If victorious, the warrior achieves immortality. If the warrior fails, Death wins and is successful in its evil plan.
The eight warriors in Time Killers use their arms, legs, weapons and heads to fight against their opponents. The eight warriors are:
Thugg, a caveman warrior who wields a stone axe and spits green acid;
Leif, a Viking warrior who slices with an enchanted battle axe;
Lord Wulf, an Arthurian knight decked out in armor and hoisting a broadsword;
Musashi, a samurai from feudal Japan with two short swords;
Rancid, a punk with a chainsaw from the year 2024;
Orion, a 29th Century astronaut with a laser sword ;
Matrix, a 33rd Century female orphan with a photon blade; and
Mantazz, a mutant insectoid with razor sharp appendages.
Each warrior has special moves and abilities including a special finishing move that totally dismembers a dazed opponent. Warriors rack up bonus points for chopping off opponents' heads and arms. Players must win two battles in a three-battle match to advance. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
