Back in the old days of computing, computer monitors suffered from a condition called burn-in. After hours upon hours of use, the photon stream used to paint the light on the screen would eat away at the phosphor coating on the inside glass of the monitor, leaving a permanently grayed-in image that was visible whenever the monitor was on (or in extreme cases, even when the monitor was off).

Someone had the bright idea to have a moving image that took over your screen when the computer was not in use, preventing burn-out. And so, the first screensavers were born. Totally Twisted: An After Dark Screen Saver is the latest in the series, with images that many people would find crude, rude, or just plain lewd, but which many people would also find funny.

Shotgunning mimes, fat men bungie-jumping and more decorate this latest effort in the After Dark series. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
