This gritty, first-person shooter sequel is designed to present another unflinching, insider's look at the War in Vietnam. Focusing on the Tet Offensive, Vietcong 2 is set near the city of Hue, where a traditional New Year's cease fire was broken in a surprise uprising that ended the lives of many soldiers. Single players take the role of a Special Forces operative who is responsible for escorting an American journalist who is in the country to cover the cease-fire celebrations. A second campaign allows play from the Vietcong perspective, casting players as a young draftee who rises through the ranks to become a Sergeant, who leads his squad to attack the Presidential Palace during the January 1968 assaults Multiplayer modes are available as well, with cooperative play for up to eight against computer-controlled opponents, and player-versus-player competition for as many as 64. ~ T.J.
