Wakfu transports computer gamers to a colorful online world of turn-based battle and fantasy adventure, inspired by developer Ankama Play's original Dofus. Set in troubled times, a thousand years after that original adventure, the game's story begins with a truly monstrous ogre. Spurned by his beloved, the ogre's giant tears have caused the oceans to rise, bringing disastrous floods to the world's peaceful coastal cities. Cartoonish hero characters explore the surreal realm and engage in console-style tactical battles, on a quest to confront the ogre's sad reign of terror.

Choosing from 14 character classes, players take the roles of warriors, healers, and rogues, who must use their distinct abilities together to overcome the game's most puzzling and combative challenges. A crafting system allows characters to create powerful weapons and tools from found resources, and game-world politics also come into play. As in Dofus, story and setting are presented with a gentle, fairy-tale sensibilities. Pixel-y graphics make way for 3D-rendered characters and scenes, but Wakfu retains the lighthearted, anime art style of its predecessor. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
