Texas Hold 'Em players can test their betting skills against some of poker's biggest stars in World Series of Poker 2008 for Nintendo DS. The heart of the game is the Career Mode, where players build their bankroll in three distinct ways: tournament events, cash games, and heads-up challenges. The latter involves competing against six pros, from Johnny Chan to Phil Hellmuth, in a series of one-on-one matches. A Quick Play option is also available, allowing players to customize a game by setting the blinds, number of opponents, limit amounts, casino location, and more. Three difficulty settings influence the computer AI's skill level, while four training lessons are designed to help those new to the card game.
