First of all, the show is on at 9:00, I think we actually want people to tune in at the right time, don't we? Not everyone has a DVR you know. Anyway it is really great, take it from someone who doesn't like football at all! You should probably also know that the show was made by the famed creators of My So-Called Life, who are famous for making really incredible TV shows that no one watches, and Tim Riggins WISHES he could be Jordan Catalano. But he's still pretty hot. For a football player.
Seriously, if you like TV, or football, or anything at all, watch this show, for the love of god.
Reason 1 of like a bajillion:
TIM RIGGINS.
For those unitiated, and who haven't watched the show because you say to yourself, "Who wants to watch a show about a bunch of dumb Texas highschool football players getting drunk and playing football while having relations with 2 or 5 girls at a time? I have better things to do on a Friday night." (that's not just a clever joke, FNL is on at 8 on Friday nights, besides you'll never have to worry about it because of TiVo, but that's like reason 472. i digress)
Tim Riggins is everything you don't want to watch. You should hate him, or at least be extremely jealous of his exploits (Lyla Garrity, Tyra, the hot mom, etc.). But you know what, I love me some Tim Riggins, man. He has gone from stereotype to... the word that means opposite of stereotype in the course of one season. I hated Tim Riggins most of season 1. But damn, watching him grow up (because essentially, we are seeing a child develop into a man) and make the choices he has made (and most of them are still bad) has changed my mind completely.
I didn't want to blab like this, but these characters have that power, man. It's like, I can't stop talking about Tim Riggins. I want you guys to know him, too.
Now, if only the Riggins replica jersey wasn't on backorder in the size I wanted. Yes, I'm serious.
More reasons to come. Hopefully somebody else watches this show, and can help me get more of you in the know.
