So the 7th generation of video game consoles is in full swing. Microsoft has given us the XBox 360 with its ergonomic controller and sublime online service, Nintendo's Wii gave us an entirely new way to play games, and the PS3, well, that's out there, too. And yes, I know that we are still in the infancy of this console generation, but we're gamers, dammit! We value impatience. So what are your thoughts on the next generation? Will there be a PS4? Will Nintendo come up with yet another crazy new game concept that will shift the paradigm yet again? Will some new company enter the console wars? Chime in, folks! |

Motion sensitivity?
Created by: SeanI don't like it.
True, it's now a necessary component to any future console controllers. Just like shoulder buttons, dual analogs and wireless ability. I can't see how it could be a bad thing, as long as the classic PS/XBox type controller doesn't end up stripped down because of it. Let's face it, playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater on the Wii controller would be next to impossible (That's why they made a different version for it), just as Wii Sports wouldnt translate well to the classic sticks. They'll both have their place as the console market splits into two sub-genres.
So.. a lot of people were concerned that the Wii remote motion feature would become tiresome quickly. Now we're learning that it isn't as sensitive as we were led to believe (well, none of the games are to this point...) Since the system has been so successful, this means that the other manufacturers will attempt to emulate this motion control in future iterations of gaming. So, the question is, is this a good thing or a bad thing? Do we all really want to play DDR at home?
