In a surprising move that’s sure to shake up the Japanese gaming world, Mega Man designer and Capcom icon Keiji Inafune has announced that after 23 years with the company, he will be leaving at the end of the month.

This Sunday marks the premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead television show. Based on the comic property created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, the show is bringing zombies to the small screen in a way that’s never been done before. After watching the first two episodes, it’s clear both longtime fans of the comic, and virgin viewers will have a new “must watch” TV show.
I'm usually cautious at anything marketed as a "gaming" anything. To me this is often an excuse to paint something cheap with flashy colors and unleash it on an assumed unknowing "gamer" market. Maybe some gamers fall for that stuff. Personally, I don't know any who do. Most are just put off by it.
But Sennheiser's new gaming headsets aren't the typical stuff marketed at us. Instead, they're well designed and built headphones that have an integrated microphone. They're also big, fairly light, and comfortable. As in, all the things you want for long hours of raiding.
A quarter century ago, a small Japanese trading card manufacturer released a video game that brought two Italian plumbers to the world of Bowser, Koopas and decoy castles. That's right, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Super Mario Bros., and to help celebrate, Nintendo has announced that on December 12th, it will release Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition for the Wii. This is the same bundle of games recently announced for Japan and Europe.
You know, I'm really glad that limited edition bundles for video games have taken off. I love being able to show off my affection for a particular title by having a really nice statue or night vision goggles on my entertainment center. Now, while I do enjoy the Killzone series, I don't like it enough to spend $129.99 on this really nice Helghast Edition. Getting an exclusive action figure and art book is all well and good, but what really makes this package phenomenal is the Helghast helmet replica. Having been burned by the exhorbitant price of the Halo 3 Legendary Edition before, I think I'll be waiting this one out a bit longer. There's bound to be some left over when summer comes around, and the price will drop just like it does on everything of this nature. Of course, for fans of the series, this is undoubtedly a day one purchase, and clearly is the version to get. Paraphanalia like the helmet really compliment a collection, and would like fantastic next to a Master Chief helmet and Gears of War Lancer, or an Assassin's Creed Ezio statue.
Sony's also announced the pre-order bonuses at various retailers, but curiously, all of them are only good for the first 24 hours after you've activated them. I haven't seen anything like this before, and it actually seems kind of worthless. I get that people are going to be playing the multiplayer like crazy that first day, but putting a time limit on a pre-order just seems insulting. I'd rather have early access to a specific weapon than double experience for a brief amount of time. I won't even be awake for a good chunk of those 24 hours, so it really seems like a big waste.

We're just a few short weeks away from the long-awaited re-release of Goldeneye 007. Activision is hoping that the mixture of nostalgia for a classic shooter, combined with some modern tweaks and enhancements, including a completely different actor playing James Bond, will bring both fans of the franchise as well as new players to the store shelves. Today the publisher has released a brand new trailer for the Wii-exclusive, this one highlighting one of the better aspects of the original game's single player campaign: the tank. For those of you who don't remember, in the original game, James had to commandeer a tank in a timed mission to chase General Ourumov through the streets of St. Petersburg. Although the reload speed on the tank in the Goldeneye was rather slow, those shells did pack one hell of a punch; and from the looks of things in the new trailer, that punch has returned.
Confirming a rumor some may have seen coming, Sony has just announced that the 320GB PlayStation 3 console, which previously was only available as a bundle with Move, the PS Eye, and Sports Champions, has shipped to stores today as a standalone item. The 320GB hard drive currently stands as the king of current gen console storage capacity, and the new sku will sell for $349.99. That means that for just $50 more than the new-ish 160GB PS3, you can have double the storage capacity.
EA has fired the first shot in the Great 2010 FPS War, having delivered Medal of Honor to store shelves over a month before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Although critical response to MoH hasn't exactly been terrific, EA is committed to the brand, so much so that they've announced that a pair of DLC packs will be made available next week. The new additions, entitled "Hot Zone" and "Clean Sweep", will add new multiplayer game modes.
Are you one of those people who own a PS3, but rarely use it for anything other than Blu-Rays? If so, Sony is giving you a damn good reason to start using the thing the way it’s supposed to be used; for gaming. PlayStation Rewards, a new incentive program, will launch next year, and offer bonuses to dedicated players.

The 16th iteration of the "Guide to Greener Electronics" has been released by the Canadian NGO Greenpeace, and once again Nintendo has found itself dead last among the rated companies. This is the third straight year that Nintendo has been in this position, and the 11th time in the report's history. The company earned a score of 1.8 out of 10, which is the same score they earned in the 15th version. Microsoft didn't fare much better, managing a 2.9, while Sony seems to be making some improvements, scoring a 5.1, up from 4.9.
After years of speculation and rumors the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone has finally appeared, thanks to a leaked photo courtesy of Engadget. Not to be confused with the PSP2, which is the subject of its own series of rumors, this is the Android-enabled smart phone with PSN connectivity from Sony Ericsson that was first teased at E3 2007.

The Logitech Revue is powered by an Intel Atom processor and will work with any TV that has HDMI.
The idea is to give you access to the entire Internet from your TV, and a keyboard with a built in touchpad is included to that end. In addition, there are apps like Netflix, Amazon on Demand, and Pandora to give you access to additional content.
For those that pre-ordered Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions at Gamestop need read no further. Anyone who is still playing the game but didn’t get Gamestop’s pre-order bonus should read on. The Cosmic Spider-Man costume, which Gamestop customers already got for free, is coming as DLC for both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
Sony has made a lot of gamers happy with their strategy of releasing their last-generation titles on the PS3 with updated HD graphics. The God of War Collection was a big hit, and Sly Cooper and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus promise to be just as successful. Microsoft’s previous generation offerings aren’t quite as robust as Sony’s, but there’s definitely some good stuff out there that’s in need of an HD remake. Logic dictates that, eventually, Microsoft should take the same approach to their library of older games. Unfortunately, they apparently have no plans to do so.

Super hero MMORPG Champions Online hasn’t done the kind of business that Cryptic expected it to. Despite its incredibly deep character creation suite, players have complained about the game’s grind-heavy structure, repetitive gameplay, and overall lack of depth, and as a result, subscription rates have never approached Cryptic’s expectations. So what does a publisher do when their MMO is struggling to attract players? Make it free to play, of course.
On November 16th, Burnout Paradise developer Criterion Games will return to the world of fast cars with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, marking the return of cop cars to the long running racing franchise. A demo has gone up today that offers you the chance to test out both the racing and the chasing. For a limited time, you'll be able to play two different game modes in Hot Pursuit, all while experiencing EA's "revolutionary social network", named Autolog, which you'll have to access in order to play the full demo.
