It's a pretty good time to be a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. With four straight NL East championships, and appearances in two out of the past three World Series, it could be argued that there has never been a better group of baseball players in the City of Brotherly Love. Of course that's not saying much for the only professional sports franchise to have reached the not-so-lofty 10,000 losses mark, but I digress. Doubtless one of the brightest spots on the Phillies roster is ace pitcher Roy Halladay.
Traded from the Toronto Blue Jays before the start of this past season, Halladay's year proved that he is one of the elite pitchers currently playing, and possibly of all time. His accolades this year include winning 21 games, pitching a perfect game, and pitching only the second no-hitter in major league postseason history. Many expect that come tomorrow, he'll be only the fifth pitcher to win a Cy Young Award in both the AL and NL. Today, however, the list of accomplishments has grown by one, as 2K sports has announced that Halladay will be appearing on the cover of MLB 2K11.
