<p>Those of you at home left in the dark as to what sonic sensations will be shattering your senses this October when <i>Brütal Legend</i> hits store shelves now have a bit of light at the end of that cold, dark tunnel. Thanks to not only word straight from King Diamond's mouth, but also to a random YouTube <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqf3OcJRxV0">video</a> of <i>Brütal Legend </i>gameplay, we now know 10 of the metal melodies we'll be banging our heads to this fall.</p>

<p>As you can no doubt tell, you will be neck deep in the metal, and it appears no rock will be left unturned (see what I did there?) when it comes to the genres the power of Double Fine will be bending. "Kickstart My Heart" is a classic, no matter what your opinion of the Crue, any Priest is good Priest as far as I'm concerned, and while I don't know much about the song, "Riding the Storm," if <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjTN4Av7qgE">this </a>is indeed the song in the game, consider me sold on Running Wild. I didn't even know there was such a thing as Pirate Metal, but if Tim Schafer says so, then I'll have to take his word for it.</p>
<p>As for the King, it <a href="http://www.covenworldwide.org/articles.php?id=123">appears</a> that both "Cremation" and "Welcome Home" will be joining the auditory assault. Even though I think King Diamond and Mercyful Fate are, at times, a bit ridiculous, their sound just has a certain appeal to it that you can't deny. There will undoubtedly be more songs unveiled closer to the actual release date (the lack of any Tenacious D to this point surprises me), so don't fret if your favorite song hasn't yet been mentioned. I just hope that the general public gives as much of a shit about this game as the gaming populace does. From all indications,<i> Brütal Legend</i> deserves to be one of the year's top games. I just hope the game (and the sales) live up to the hype.</p>
