BioShock 2 DLC Arriving March 11
Multiplayer Characters And Upgrades Coming In A Week.
by 00.19
I didn't really care for BioShock 2's multiplayer. It just seemed underdeveloped compared to the litany of first-person shooters people were still playing that had come out mere months before. That said, I know there's a fanbase for BioShock 2's multiplayer that will absolutely gobble up the upcoming DLC when it arrives on March 11th.
For 400
or $4.99, depending on which console you're buying it for, the "Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack" will give you two new playable characters, new weapon upgrades, additional masks, as well as a rank increase to level 50, and 20 new trials. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about the in-development single-player content. I'm dying to find out more about this offline add-on 2K is working on, and hope that it's not going to be too long until we get to see it. I've got an inkling that it's not going to be more story-based missions, but that it will be akin to the challenge pack levels PlayStation 3 owners got with the original game. If it is more story content, I'll be stoked, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Check out the complete press release about the impending multiplayer pack below.
2K Games announced today that the Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack, the first in a series of single and multiplayer downloadable content for BioShock®2, will be available on March 11, 2010 from both the Xbox®LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games for Windows®-LIVE for 400 Microsoft Points, and from the PlayStation®Network for $4.99.
BioShock 2 has already shipped over three million units worldwide just four weeks after its release - cementing its place as one of 2010's blockbuster games. Additionally, the original BioShock has now sold more than four million units globally since its release in August 2007, bringing the total sales of the franchise to seven million units.
Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack, the first of several planned downloadable packages, contains a number of customization features that will allow players to further their character's development in BioShock 2's multiplayer modes and provide a deeper multiplayer experience. The pack includes:

- 20 new trials*
- A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
- Five additional masks*
*Some items are only available after a player achieves a rank of 41 or higher.
Announcements about additional downloadable content for BioShock 2 that will extend the game's single player and multiplayer experience will be made in the coming weeks.
