Blur Getting Multiplayer Beta Next Month
Where Do I Sign Up?

On today's Activision investor conference call, Michael Griffith revealed plans for the highly anticipated racing game Blur to get a multiplayer beta next month. No specific console has been given, so we can only speculate at this point that it will be available on both the 360 and PS3. That's the whole story, so I'm just going to talk about Heavy Rain some more, how does that sound? Oh, you actually want me to talk about Blur? Uh, okay.
Truthfully, I'm looking forward to Blur. It looks like a damn fine racer, and it's got a pretty cool, and different, style that I think will go miles in giving gamers a completely different racing experience from a title like Need for Speed or Burnout. While I'm still looking forward to Split Second more than this game, Sarah's hands-on from E3 certainly piqued my interest. There are about a zillion racing games that come out each year, and I've always been much fonder of the arcade-style racer, like Midnight Club, than I have the sim racer, like Forza, and both of this year's cool looking racing titles look to fall into the latter category. Hopefully Blur and Split Second turn out great. We could use some competition in the racing category. Besides, without a NASCAR game coming anytime soon, I've got a hole in my collection that needs filling.
Man did that sound dirtier than I intended.
