Bungie Counts Down to Teaser Trailer

Maddie, Where Are You?

by 00.19

Bungie Halo fans around the world have anxiously been looking forward to this morning's Bungie.net countdown reveal. Those who checked the site were among the first to see a brand-new teaser trailer showcasing... well, I'm not exactly sure what we're supposed to take from the trailer. There's an evacuated city (you can tell from all the empty streets, abandoned cars, and evacuation messages on billboards) under some sort of attack. At first, I thought it was a bombing, but after watching a few more times, I noticed the object all seem to have markings on them making me think they're more likely to have people/aliens inside them than an explosive payload. Then there's a few messages from the SUPERINTENDENT about "Keeping it Clean" and so forth. The trailer cuts back to the city, which is now practically in ruins. It looks like it was under attack, but I'm standing by my idea of there actually being some sort of lifeform inside those pods. We're then treated to the Halo 3 logo, and are informed that we need to "Prepare to Drop." Notice it doesn't say "Prepare for Drop." That would probably give this video an entirely different connotation. As to what it all really means, I honestly have no idea. Like me, you're just going to have to wait until Bungie decides to fill us in on the mystery. Until then, please remain calm.

Sounds like an expansion, maybe Master Chief comes home? Maybe there are Convenant to fight?

The MMO is officially cancelled, so I doubt that's it.

Looks like it's probably an expansion, possibly focusing on the ODST Jumpers, hence the reference to "drop."

So... uh... maybe Halo 3 is coming out again? I mean, they're re-releasing Dark Knight, right? So why not this too?

It has been pretty much confirmed that it's a single player expansion pack taking place back on earth.

Also, that seemed to be Flood, maybe the flood reinvade earth and this is some kind of expansion? Maybe there will just be chapters of halo 3 from now on? sorta like they way Valve is doing Half-life2 now becuase it would take wayyy to long to make a Halo 4 that would live up to its expectations? Am I creating more questions then answers?

Nah, Suavy I agree. It's basically an easy way for these development teams to keep making easy money off of an old engine. And we will eat it up. I know I will personally buy any game in the Half-Life universe. I'm a sucker.

I was so expecting Hello 3 which is a wii game that just allows you to gesture hello in 3 different ways.
