Crackdown 2 Punishing Super-Criminals July 9?
Conflicting American and European Dates Cause Mild Confusion.

I bet you almost forgot about Crackdown 2, didn't you? I can't say I blame you. Since it was announced last year, there's been nary a newsbit concerning the game's eventual release. Well, until now that is. Xbox Europe's community manager has revealed via Twitter that Crackdown 2 will be hitting stores on July 9th, 2010. Of course, this date may just be the European release date, as Gamestop is listing July 7th as their in-store date.
I think it can go without saying that audiences should expect the mildly-anticipated sequel during the first weeks of July, though the exact date for Yankees and Red Coats might be slightly different. Often the release dates between our two countries do differ, so it wouldn't be entirely out of the question, and it actually seems fairly likely that Crackdown 2 will ship on two different dates. This, of course, stems from the original treaty agreement between the United States, then just thirteen colonies, and the United Kingdom, wherein it was decided that "... entertainment derived from a source that is witchlike in nature, or that which enjoyment comes solely from the rush of getting a headshot be required to be released on separate days in order to cause as much confusion as possible for the huddled masses..." Yeah, it's complicated. You can read the rest of the ridiculous rules the two governments created right here.
