DC Universe Online, the highly anticipated MMO from Sony Online Entertainment, finally has a release window. Speaking with IGN about their E3 plans, Sony Online Entertainment revealed today that DC Universe Online would be shipping in November of this year. As expected, they’ll also have a new demo available for play at this year’s E3 Media and Business Summit, but Sony’s still mum on specific details like voice actors, cross-platform play, and subscription costs.
I had a chance to play the game at last year’s New York Comic Con, and while it was fun to play, the title still needed a lot of work. Hopefully the year that’s passed since then will have led to some promising results, and the DCU Online that’s shown at E3 will be much improved over the one presented back in 2009. I wish there was a more exact date attached to the project, as a vague November 2010 release window doesn’t instill confidence that it’s a time frame the developers and publisher expect to hit. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the game finds itself pushed to early 2011, but I’m still holding out hope it drops this year.
Expect to hear more about the title when Gamervision heads to E3 2010 in just a few short weeks.
