Now that Dead Space 2 has been announced, the one question on everyone's mind is, "When's the game coming out?" Personally, I was hoping for a fall 2010 release, but as Gamestop would have it, Dead Space 2 is currently slated for a 2011 release.

The January date is nothing more than a Gamestop placeholder since the true date has yet to be finalized, but one thing we can learn from this is that Visceral and EA aren't planning to rush it out next year. That's a good thing. Even though we haven't got a clear idea of just how jam-packed the waning months of 2010 will be, it seems EA has learned the lesson from the first Dead Space, and wants to put their game out in a much safer retail month. I think it's a brilliant idea (I'm all for spreading huge gaming releases throughout the whole year, not just the last three months), and can't wait to find out more about the upcoming game.
