The Dead Space hypemachine strikes again, as today we’re treated with not only a developer’s diary about “Strategic Dismemberment,” but we’re also given a glimpse of the game’s cover art. Personally, I love it. I think it’s a bold choice to have a dismembered hand floating in space as the first thing people see when it looking at your game. You know you’re going to be seeing some scary shit right off the bat. Kudos to the design team for not going with a “generic hero in space pose” cover.

The video gives us a sense of the time these guys are putting into this game. Despite the fact we’re being constantly bombarded with Dead Space info basically every week, I think this game is looking good enough to warrant it. Unlike say, Too Human, this game just may live up to the hype. At least I hope so. I absolutely love space horror/survival. If this cover and video are any indication, my hopes may come to fruition.
