In case you've been living under a rock, let me catch you up. Rockstar is coming out with western-themed game called Red Dead Redemption. It's a sequel to, in the sense that it shares part of its title with, Red Dead Revolver. Now, I love westerns. I love damn near everything about the old west. For years, I've been waiting for someone to take the Grand Theft Auto concept and place it in the west. It appears that time is upon us. Today, a trailer showcasing some of the men you'll cross paths with was released, and even though my anticipation for this title has already reached its apex, that's not going to stop me from trying to get you jacked for this incredible looking game.

I like the idea that the traveling salesman is going to be a recurring character, or at least that's the way it looks. It would be run to run into him in every town you get to since he is likely getting run out of the last town you saw him in. Many of the other characters featured in this trailer look like your run of the mill scumbags. There's a general sense of lawlessness to these men, and it's clear that Rockstar has gone into some great detail in creating these unhinged, alcoholic degenerates. We're still nearly two months away from actually getting to play Red Dead Redemption, but this is a game that should be on everybody's radar, and could possibly be the best thing to happen to the western genre since 3:10 to Yuma.
