Shocking pretty much everyone in attendance or watching at home, Sony unleashed a major exclusive on the world. Final Fantasy XIV Online, a new MMORPG, will feature the talents of producer Hiromichi Tanaka (Final Fantasy I, II, III, XI),  director Nobuaki Komoto (Final Fantasy IX, XI), art director Akihiko Yoshida (Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII), and a score from Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy series). Plans are for the game to get a simulanteous release globally with language support in Japanese, English, French and German.

While there aren't many other details available at the moment, I'm sure fans of both the Final Fantasy series, and longtime players of Final Fantasy Xi Online, will be eagerly anticipating the game's arrival on store shelves. If you want to check out the trailer, you can find it here.
