E3 10: DC Universe Online Trailer Brings Out the Best/Worst in You
Which Side Will You Be On?

We get a pretty decent look at the variety of powers you’ll be able to give your created character, as well as getting another look at the game’s combat. Since DCU Online is more of an action-based game, the moves you see being pulled off in the trailer are actual things you’ll have to do, and aren’t just a simple keyboard command. I’m curious to hear how the game has evolved since I saw it more than a year ago at New York Comic Con. Back then, the controls were easy to grasp, but the game’s battle system felt a little too simplified, and wasn’t as satisfying as I thought it would be. Then again, that might be attributed to the fact that the character I was playing as relied on a gun rather than an actual power.
The game is due out this November, and it will be the very first MMO I devote a solid chunk of my time to. Sony’s still not talking about monthly subscription fees, but I’ll willingly pay up to $15 a month if it means I can run side by side with the Flash, or patrol Metropolis’ skies with Green Lantern.

Looks awesome. I played City of Heroes/Villians for quite a few years before i got bored with it. This looks like it could re-vitalize the excitement of those first couple of CoH years. I especially like the fast pacing... which was a big reasoning i could never get into WoW, which after CoH felt like fighting under water.
yeah, i'm hoping that since you actually perform combat moves instead of just watching them happen, that this game ends up being more like I'm actually playing, versus just watching stuff happen.
I think I'm going to have to sink my teeth into this one. Very excited for, what appears to be, full PVP.
