Medal of Honor isn't the only game getting a PlayStation 3 exclusive bundle. EA's 2011 survival-horror title Dead Space 2 will also get its own limited edition, complete with a Move-enabled high-definition remake of the acclaimed on-rails shooter, Dead Space: Extraction. I'm not certain, but I think this is the first time a prequel and sequel will be shipping together on the same day for the same console. While you could argue that Extraction is already available, it's not available on the PS3, so I'm still right. I think. Maybe.
I've been saying for weeks that I've got to finish the original Dead Space, but now I'm not sure which console I should play through the game on. I made it to the sixth chapter on the Xbox, but that save file's not so far in that I wouldn't mind restarting on the PS3, just in case there's some sort of bonus for having a save file that carries over. Also, even though I played through Extraction on the Wii, I'd love to play it again in high-def, and if I can get it for free, that'll make the experience even sweeter. Decisions, decisions.
Experience the panic before the terror! At the Sony Press Briefing during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Visceral GamesTM, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. Launching January 25, 2011, Dead Space 2 will unleash a truly epic Action Horror experience that will bring the psychological thrills of deep space to a terrifying new level.
The Dead Space 2 Limited Edition will include Dead Space Extraction in full HD for the first time ever. Dead Space Extraction on PlayStation 3 will offer the entire single-player game complete with all-new trophy support, as well as co-op gameplay, using the new PlayStation Move motion controller, in addition to the standard DUALSHOCK®3 and SIXAXISTM controllers. “We’re thrilled to couple two terrifying experiences in one box. With the Limited Edition, PlayStation 3 fans will receive real insight into the cause of the necromorph infestation and the destruction that followed. This is the genesis of the dark and twisted world Isaac inhabits,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 2. “The addition of support for PlayStation Move allows us to bring a truly unique experience that was previously unavailable to players and we can’t wait to see what they think.”
