E3 10: Latest Tron: Evolution Trailer Connects Game and Movie

Tron Talks You Through It.

I'm pretty sure you guys know that I really love Tron by now. I'm pretty stoked for the new movie, and by association, the new video game. Though this new trailer doesn't show off any actual gameplay, there are some gameplay elements present here. Light cycle battling, parkour, and disc throwing will all be in the game in some form or another, though if you're able to do that sweet cycle leap into wall run that Tron does is this trailer, my head just might explode. Anyway, the trailer is narrated by Bruce Boxleitner, the original Tron himself, and he shares a few tidbits about how the game will tie into the movie. Bridging the gap between the original and the sequel, the trailer shows Tron taking on the forces of an evolved Clu, who has gone rogue from Kevin Flynn's original programming. It appears that even after Sark was defeated, the world still remained oppressed. Right at the end of the teaser, a new character (presumably Flynn's son?) materializes, and you learn that it'll be up to you to restore the balance to the digital world.

It has just dawned on me that the kid who plays Sam Flynn was the kid who played Billingsley in the Friday Night Lights movie, which the character of Riggins on the TV show was primarily based upon. Just a little meaningless factoid for you.
