EA Sports Releases Madden NFL 10

It's that time of year again. You can feel it in the air. The machismo. The bravado. The players about to break into stardom. The legends about to pass their prime. Some professionals may have their best years behind them, but us? With another year of Madden NFL arrving this year, I'd say our best years are just beginning.
As with every year, the inevitable release of EA sales Jesus, Madden NFL, is upon us. 9-to-5ers can start requesting Friday, August 14th off because that's the day it all goes down. Yes, for the first time since Madden's release became a national holiday, the street date kicks off what I'm sure will be the world's first mass three day weekend. If you thought online records were shattered before, just wait until EA claims its stake in the "Most People Playing A Game In 3 Days Ever" record. It's going to be pretty epic.
Personally, I can't wait for this year's game, but the whole "Oh my god, they just announced Madden's release date," bit is getting pretty old. We all know it's going to come out in August. We all know it's going to be one of the most anticipated releases of the summer. We all know that even Jesus, our Lord and savior, makes the annual trek to GameStop to pick up his reserved copy (he prepaid with a gift card he got for Easter). Just announce the cover athlete already, and then the world can go about its business.

The show will feature several interactive elements, including live call-ins from NFL athletes, on-site correspondents from New York City, and the chance for Madden fans to phone in with comments and questions. As players are drafted, their official Madden NFL 10 ratings will be released and discussed live. The website will also feature dynamic polls, social networking feeds, photos from the NFL Draft, and live blogs from the Madden NFL 10 player ratings team. Madden NFL Ten. Boo. They lost all their 'oh-nine, oh eight,' etc. coolness, which was inevitable. They could've called it "twenty-ten," but I guess EA didn't expect to last the turn of the century. Doesn't matter, Armageddon should come any time soon.
