First Look At DC's Mass Effect 2 Action Figures

Who Wouldn't Want A Six-Inch Shepherd?

by 00.19

DC Comics' March solicitations revealed the comic publisher's plan for a line of collectible figures based on the upcoming BioWare game Mass Effect 2. Unfortunately, at the time there weren't any pictures available. Today, we've got a first look at what you can expect when Shepherd, Tali, Grunt, and Thane get shrunken down into action figure form.

While the final product has yet to be approved by BioWare, I have to say that these figures look pretty sweet, and will likely be very close to the final retail product. There's a lot of nice detail, and each of the figures looks to be fully poseable. It's not clear just how much articulation you can expect with the line, but going by previous DC lines, there's likely to be at least 12 points of articulation on every character. That is, unless they're fixed in these poses, which would kind of be a letdown. I doubt that's the case though, since the just released Resistance 2 line easily has that much poseability.

The figures don't come out until late August, but are available for order now at your local comic shops and specialty stores. There's also no pricing yet, but typical retail cost for figures of this type should be around $15-$20 each. I'll likely be picking up at least Shepherd and Thane, and possibly more. I guess that all depends on whether or not they actually decide to make a second series.

Is "Do Want" the term I'm looking for? I think it is...

Someday I will be impressed with human eyes on action figures. Today is not that day.

If only they could make it look like my in-game Shephard, whom I modeled after Kool Keith.
