Get Wii Fit Plus For $20 on October 4th

$99 Balance Board Bundle Also Available.

It's a Nintendo-themed night here at GV. Courtesy of our spies deep within the higher ranks of the Gamestop hierarchy comes word that Wii Fit Plus will be shipping on October 4th. Not only that, but the stand-alone game will retail for $19.99, and the game with balance board will cost $99.99. Not sure what makes them think this year's version of the game is worth $10 more than the original, but I bet it has something to do with the fact that they could charge a hozillion dollars, and people would still buy it.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of the balance board, or the original game. I think there are much better ways to get in shape than simulated tight rope walking or virtual ski jumping. Hopefully this year's version is a much more concise and focused effort, and not just a retread of the first game with a few new features.

Be sure to stay tuned for more breaking news from the Gamestop Managers Conference as it develops.

Wow. $19.99? If it allows to you to build a customized training program with a wider variety of activities, this might be worth the admission cost.

Yeah $20 isn't bad at all, but I'll need to see more about this and the upcoming EA Sports Active expansion (as well as Ubisoft's Your Shape) before deciding whether or not to spend any more money on exer-games this holiday season.

That $99 price point for the game and board is ridiculous though, unless it has a shitload more content than the original (and I'm guessing, with the standalone at twenty dollars, that it does not).

Does GameStop (or any other retailer) sell used balance boards?
