Guitar Hero: Metallica En Route

Ride The Lightning Into The Fire... Nothing Else Matters

Yes, that sound you heard was the collective "D'oh!" of Rock Band fans around the world. It appears as if releasing three Guitar Hero games this year just wasn't enough for Activision. According to a Wedbush Morgan agent, Activision has filed paperwork with the SEC detailing their upcoming game slate:

"In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms..."

Looks to me like someone's trying to compensate for the beating they took from Rock Band this past year. How publishing four games from the same franchise in the same fiscal year doesn't seem like over-kill to Activision boggles me. I'm a big fan of quality over quantity, but what do I know. Since it appears Guitar Hero IV will ship before the Metallica-flavored game, you would think Activision plans on making use of all members of the band, not just Kirk, James and Rob's guitars. As more developments break, you can count on Gamervision to bring them to you.

Hard drives were made for a reason.
I still haven't moved passed GH2 for my PS2, and I don't really care to but all these rehashes and new songlists are making my head spin

Sounds like... well hell, it sounds boring. After playing Rock Band, I just don't see how they can top it.

Agreed. DLC is the way to go on this one! Aerosmith would be another but they already screwed that up for the money.
