Whilst checking out the latest Marvel statue updates (1/2 scale Iron Man Mark III armor FTW) from San Diego Comi Con from the guys over at Sideshow Collectibles, I happened to run across this juicy bit of news. The sculptors are currently working on two types of high-end statue collectibles based on God of War.

Sideshow has a video of all their SDCC announcements where you can see more shots of the stand-alone Kratos, but what's even more exciting is the company is also working on a diorama based on the upcoming Sony action title. There may not have been any pictures, but if their other dioramas are any indication of what we can expect (and I'm pretty sure they are), fans of God of War will be clammoring to get their mitts on the complete statue.

It's true that many of Sideshow's products are a bit out of my price range, but that doesn't make them any less awesome, nor does it mean that I don't desperately want one. In the meantime, I'll just have to be happy with my less expensive NECA Kratos figures. A guy can dream though, can't he?
