UPDATED: Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu Shine As Madden 10 Cover Athletes

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2010 Madden cover athlete is Larry Fitzgerald. After having a fantastic season catching 96 passes for more than 1400 yards, and taking those receptions to the house 12 times, Fitz took his game to another level when the 2009 post-season began. Reeling in 30 passes for 650 yards and 7 TDs, the Cardinal wideout established himself as the premier player at his position. Seemingly uncoverable, the former Pitt standout dominated deep routes and burned any corner or safety that tried to keep pace with his senses shattering performance. Being anointed the Madden cover athlete is no small accomplishment, and Larry can now look forward to being remembered as one of the most celebrated players of his era thanks to this honor. There may be some stigma attached to the job, but of all the nominees from this year’s class, none is more capable of bearing the burden of a “curse” on his shoulders than this humble athlete.
But wait! In an unexpected move, EA has revealed that Larry will share the cover with Steelers safety Troy Polamalu. This is an unprecedented move for two reasons: first, there has never been a dual Madden cover before; and secondly, it's the first time that a cover athlete from NCAA Football made it to Madden.
The wait for Madden 10 began as soon as Madden 09 hit store shelves, and now that this year’s cover athletes have been announced it’s only a few short months until we’ll be hitting the gridiron in what looks to be the best Madden yet.
Oh, and I totally called it. Well, sort of.
UPDATE:
Here are some before and after pictures of the Times Square billboard with the snappily dressed Fitzgerald on scene.
And here's a close-up of the box art. I like it. Thoughts?

I like the way it looks. And yes, "Let Their Be Sims" Could that mean that you can import Sims into Madden and make them die! :O

so some brand unity equates to laziness?... not sure i agree. the days of people buying the NFL game that had their favorite player on it are over because of EA's exclusive, so I see it more honoring two of the most respected and revered players of the current generation versus taking the easy route.

I feel like EA Sports got some kind of special deal from the printer that if they put two athletes on the cover of a game, along with some awesome-looking pixelated color blocks, they would get a 15% discount.
I'm sorry, but this cover is pretty much identical to that of Fight Night Round 4. Cool idea? Maybe. But lazy as can be.
