Believe it or not, it appears that the Xbox 360 version of Lost Planet 2 will be getting some exclusive content. Appearing as guest stars in Capcom's upcoming third-person shooter are Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago, the stars of Epic's Gears of War franchise. There's no word on how the characters will fit into the game, but by the looks of the leaked trailer above, they'll be going in guns blazing. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm not quite sure whether or not this will add any more sales to the title, but it certainly won't hurt Lost Planet 2 at retail. This may be the perfect catalyst to sway gamers who own mulitple consoles to pick up the 360 version of the game, unless of course Sony's got something up their sleeve in the form of Killzone 2 characters showing up in their version. It seems highly unlikely, but as this announcement proved, anything can happen. It is kind of cool though. Capcom loves doing mash-up titles with other companies' properties, and if you want instantly recognizeable characters from other shooters, Marcus and Dom are the perfect fit.

We're sure to hear more about this team-up shortly, as Lost Planet 2 is due in May, and Cliffy B loves hyping his games up. I'm betting that even though this isn't his game, he's going to have a lot to say about how "awesome" it is.
