On July 7th, Sony’s LittleBigPlanet is getting a DLC pack of heroic proportions. In addition to twenty new Marvel hero/villain costumes, there will also be four new game levels, and a slew of items for creating your own Marvel themed levels.

Though a full character costume list has been released (you can check that out below), there aren’t very many details as of yet. According to Marvel, there’s going to be a slow reveal starting on Monday, June 28, when there will be “… more art and information than you can shake a Skrull at.” I’m a huge, huge fan of LittleBigPlanet, and have always enjoyed the various additional content packs that have been released, but aside from the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, this Marvel DLC just might be the greatest thing ever. While I’m sure there’s going to be one huge super-pack of all the costumes and the new levels, Sony has always been very good about selling both individual items and smaller bundles alongside the larger sets for those fans who only want a few items, and not the whole shebang. Prices have yet to be mentioned, but judging by what’s already been released, a set of three or four costumes is probably going to set you back about $5, while the level kit will also cost around the same. All together, you should figure that each pack will be discounted about a dollar, which puts a giant bundle right around $20. This is purely speculative at the moment, but that price seems more than reasonable for all the content you’re getting.
