Just when you thought professional athletes and Halo was all Todd McFarlane cared about, he goes ahead and reminds us that his company occasionally makes other action figures as well. Case in point: McFarlane Toys just linked up with Disney to produce a toy line based on the upcoming actioner, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

While the attention to detail on many of the figures McFarlane Toys produce is unquestionably high, I'm a bit worried about this line. The company generally works with figures six inches or taller, but the lead sku on this line will be the four inch figures. I say that only because the additional horse set, and playsets are made to be used with the four inch line, not the "deluxe" six inch line. I'm sure the company is aiming for the detail of the 3 3/4" Marvel Universe line, not of the awful looking 3 3/4" Hasbro Indiana Jones line, but I'm just not convinced they're going to be able to pull it off. This could be the terrible looking Guitar Hero figures all over again.

Of course, with this being such a high profile license, perhaps the company will surprise me with just how awesome the figures are. I may not be sitting around dreaming of the day when I could get a Prince Dastan figure, but if the figures look real nice, I may rethink my stance. One thing's for sure; I'll be getting that Dagger of Time the day I see it on a shelf.
