Metal Gear Online SCENE Expansion Details

Earn New Skills By Being Kinda Sucky.

by 00.19

Due out tomorrow, the latest Metal Gear Online expansion, the SCENE pack, has a few new tricks up its sleeve for those of you devoted enough to keep playing this boring hardcore game. If you've pre-ordered it, the first thing you'll notice is the new cardboard box hat your character can wear. In addition to the hat, there are three new skills for your characters to unlock.

CQC EX: In order to obtain this skill, you have to execute a CQC maneuver 200 times with CQC Mastery Lv3 equipped. Once you have this skill, your character will automatically counter an opponent’s CQC attack.

TOUGHNESS: By receiving a knockback, knockdown, or blow away type attack 100 times your character will be able to endure knockdown attacks and recover time will be decreased.

CHARM: Unlocked by getting distracted by a magazine 100 times. It’s similar to Mei-Ling’s special skill, where holding the salute pose will have the same distracting effect as a magazine. The salute motion will also change to one of three different exclusive random animations.

You've also got a few new emblems to earn, like the Arctic Skua (earned in Solo Capture) and the Fighting Fish (earned in Deathmatch). Getting either of these emblems will also unlock a t-shirt for use in the game.

I never really got into the whole MGO scene (ha, get it?), but apparently there's a big market for this game somewhere. I can't imagine why you'd still be playing this when there are so many better online games available right now. Whatever floats your boat I guess. Anyhow, the expansion arrives tomorrow, and for $10, it looks like you'll be getting your money's worth.

MGO is not that bad of an experience, though the Konami ID is such an idiotic system and really drove a lot of people away from the online. If your still playing this game online, stop and buy Killzone 2, its better online.
