Metro 2033 Trailer Exposits

You Are Not Alone, Comrade.

I didn't know much about upcoming THQ shooter Metro 2033 before today, and after watching this trailer, well... I feel like I'm still in the dark. And that's a good thing. Heavy on dialogue, this latest trailer shows us just how far the Russians have fallen, but manages to keep an air of mystery as to what's really going on. I like it.

The game's narrative seems to be pretty cool, and even though some of the up-close character shots were a little awkward, it's apparently well acted as well. I still don't have that great an idea about what your character's journey will be, but it seems like you're going to be assisting a local hero in ridding the area of some kind of mutated menace. Man versus apocalyptic beast in a first-person shooter is nothing new, but Metro 2033 seems to be taking it in a different direction, and hopefully the story is as intriguing once you start playing as it is right now. A quick search of the ol' Wikipedia reveals the game is based on a novel by one Dmitry Glukhovsky, wherein Artyom (that'd be you) journeys into the heart of the metro to warn the other inhabitants of the new threat the mutations present to the last remnants of humanity. Okay, I'm in.
