Modern Warfare 2 Maps Coming March 30... for 360

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Litigation Can Keep These Maps From Being Delivered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 may currently be the subject of some pretty insane legal mumbo jumbo, but that doesn't mean gamers can't enjoy the game. What's more, is that it appears nothing can stop the much-anticipated DLC from coming out on March 30th. Well, except console exclusivity. The first map pack for the biggest selling game of 2009 will only be available to those of you who own Xbox 360s.

There's no word on just when you can expect this content to arrive on the PlayStation 3, but it's likely going to be a few months. If for whatever reason you don't have a Gold Live account, there will be a "free-to-play" weekend for Modern Warfare this week, but I honestly have never met someone who doesn't have a Gold account, so I don't know why they keep doing these. I haven't put the game in my system in months, but I'm totally picking up these maps at the end of the month. I could use a break from the huge amount of RPGs I'll be playing at that time, and nothing relaxes me more than stabbing Coop in the back in MW2.

I don't have a clue what these maps will be like, but I don't really care. You can check out the press release below.

Begin the countdown to a new infusion of Call of Duty! The Call of Duty(R): Modern Warfare(R) 2 Stimulus Package will strike worldwide on March 30. Representing the first new multiplayer maps from the biggest entertainment launch in history, Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package will release first on Xbox LIVE(R), Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today.

Additionally, Silver Xbox LIVE members who have not yet experienced the exciting adrenaline rush of "Modern Warfare 2" will be able to try it with a Multiplayer Unlock event running from March 12 to March 15.

Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 became a cultural phenomenon when it launched to the world in November. The epic title set new entertainment records for the greatest one-day and five-day openings in history* on the way to topping $1 billion in sales and becoming the best selling title ever on the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Additionally, Xbox LIVE celebrates having the largest Call of Duty community than any other entertainment system.
