New Civilization V Trailer is Totally Quoteable

Great Leaders Impart Their Wisdom In Latest Teaser.

by 00.19

At the foundation of each and every civilization, world power, faction, group, pack, clique, or band there is a great leader. That person is one who can inspire a people to do great, or occasionally, terrible things. Sid Meier knows that, and now he's imparting that knowledge onto you. This trailer for Civilization V may not have much in the way of gameplay, but the way in which it looks at the evolution of society certainly gets you excited to play the real game.

Kicking things off with a wonderful statement from Jawaharlal Nehru, the very first Indian prime minister, the trailer immediately lets you know just what you're in for. It's no easy task to follow up that quote, but Douglas MacArthur does the job just fine reminding us all that hope is never lost. Themistocles takes the torch, and runs with it, proving that any man can do great things with the proper motivation. Otto Von Bismarck presents another point of view that action is what get results, not discourse, which is a bit ironic given the context of this video. The trailer then taps Mao Zedong to share the idea that with the power of the people, anything can be accomplished. Everything wraps up with a simple and honest line from Eleanor Roosevelt, reminding us that if you can dream it, you can do it. I'm sure Churchman's Business School would be proud.

I don't know about you, but that was one inspiring trailer. Too bad I don't have a PC that'll be able to run this game.

Wish I had a computer that would run this. It's probably for the best, I don't really need another super addictive timesuck.

Never had a chance to play that much CIV (save for Rev on the DS), but I'm interested in this. I have a PC that can do it, so why not?

Hopefully, Civ V will be almost infinitely scalable, and play on older systems. They did it for Civ IV.
