New EA MMA Trailer Showcases Strikeforce
Hey, It's Nick Diaz. Remember Him?

The latest EA Sports MMA trailer has arrived, and while it's not exactly lengthy, there's definitely a few cool things going on. First and foremost is the spotlighting of the members of Strikeforce that are in the game. Nick Diaz, Bobby Lashley, and Brett Rogers are all pretty decent fighters that should make the roster of this game at least mildly interesting.
Though we still don't have any real idea about how the game will work (yes, some previews have talked about punching and kicking, but I've yet to hear anything about submissions/grappling), the trailer gives a pretty solid glimpse into the in-ring combat. From merely watching it though, it's tough to tell the difference between this game and THQ's UFC Undisputed. EA's game does have a bit of a graphical edge, or at least that's the way it appears. Since I haven't seen the game in person, I can't say how the frame rate and clipping, or lack thereof, are.
It's always a good thing to have a bit of competition between brands, but the UFC has proven that other companies just can't compete. Whether or not that translates to the video game side of the business remains to be seen, but for now, EA Sports MMA's got a shot at making a difference.
