Raidou Kuzonoa is back in action this May, and I couldn't be more excited. I enjoyed the first SMT: Devil Summoner since it was a new wrinkle in the always entertaining Meg Ten universe. Well to sate my appetite, Atlus has unleashed a set of new screens, and it looks like SMT: Devil Summoner 2 is going to be an improved version of the first game. Perfect.
Meg Ten hallmarks like demon capture and fusion appear to be returning. Also, the gorgeous setting of 1920s Tokyo, which contains a strangely beautiful combination of old world architecture with the start of industrialization. It really makes for an interesting setting for a demon-infested noir. Hopefully the detective aspects of the game are a bit more interesting. Not that they were terrible in the last game, I'm just hoping for some improvements to the mechanic to make it more pulp mystery and less modified RPG.
May is only a month away, and I'm clearing up some space on my gaming slate to make sure I have the time to devote to this game. The first one may not have been as favored as some of the other Meg Ten games, but I'm still looking forward to this sequel... Way more than I should be.

I'm not expecting another Persona 4, but this will probably be the best PS2 game this year.
May not be saying much, but if it's good, I won't care what system I'm playing it on. Atlus is keeping my PS2 frequently in use.
