New UFC 2010 Trailer Shows Off In-Ring Tactics
Sadly, No Footage Of Frank Mir Getting Whupped.

The latest trailer for THQ's UFC Undisputed 2010 provides the first real glimpses of three of the new and improved fight mechanics in motion. Even though last year's game was highly enjoyable, there were quite a few disparities between what happened in the game, and what would actually happen inside a real ring. After checking out this video, it's clear that THQ saw the problems, and has gone above and beyond in addressing them.
The "Sway" system is something you may recall from EA's Fight Night series. Bobbing and weaving around the octagon is a major part of the counter-attack game, as they stated in the trailer, and it's also one more technical feature to help recreate the experience of being in a real ring. Though the trailer touches upon cage physics, there's not really a whole lot to see. Sure, there are a few fighters pushed up against the cage, but it doesn't appear as if we'll be seeing the cage used as a transitional tool when on the ground. It's entirely possible that cage maneuvering is something THQ's waiting to show upon the game's release, but I haven't seen any indication in any of the footage or images that it's going to be in the game. What I'm most excited for are these new submission transitions, where you'll be able to turn one submission into another if the opportunity arises. It'll be cool to turn a kimura into an armbar, and really tweak an opponent's arm.
We're just a little under two months away from getting our hands on the full game, and things are looking real good for this year's version of the game. Hopefully it plays as good as it looks.

It's amazing how many things I didn't even think of as "missing" in the first game, but sways and cage usage are pretty big ones.
It really looks like they're trying to get this is as close to real as possible, and I'm all for that.
Every single thing in this vid looks awesome. I can't wait to dust off my Wanderlei ass kicking machine.
