For some reason, I became enamored with WET the first moment I saw information about it. There was just something about a game that promised to be Tomb Raider meets Stranglehold meets Mirror's Edge that appealed to me. Okay, so maybe it helped that the protagonist was a pretty-looking lady named Rubi. Now that some gameplay footage has arrived, I'm hoping that somebody sees the promise in this game, and decides to publish it.

There's nothing absolutely mind-blowing about the footage in this trailer. Nothing here makes me think this game will be a contender for game of the year, but what I do see is the potential for a really fun sleeper title that could provide me with quite a few hours of enjoyment. The action in the game looks really fun, and even though there's a lot of Matrix-esque shooting going on, I really want to play this game.

Currently, this game is in development limbo, but the right publisher could really make something of this game. Pending they didn't decide to release it during the holiday onslaught of AAA titles. WET to me feels like a late summer action flick. It's not going to compete with the July 4th blockbusters, but as fall approaches and the ticket sales for those $300 million movies fall off, I could definitely see this game making a solid case for your entertainment dollar. Of course, I could be completely wrong, and this game could be a tremendous bomb. For now, I'm sticking with my first opinion, and I look forward to the day that I finally get a chance to try WET out.
