Next Zelda to Use MotionPlus Exclusively

This Is A Surprise?

by 00.19

Even though they've barely announced that the next Zelda title will be appearing at E3, a few more details about Nintendo's next entry into the franchise have been revealed. In an interview with Famitsu, producer Eiji Aonuma stated the as-yet-unnamed game will make use of MotionPlus, and went on to add "... it just feels so natural. Link's sword and the controller that you're holding become one." Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath.

It was just a few short years ago that Miyamoto hyped the gaming world with a shield and sword, proclaiming the Wii would do wonders for Zelda titles. Of  course, that promise has yet to be fulfilled, and that moment in time is often still ridiculed today. It's not nearly as bad as Sony's "Ridge Racer" incident, but it's pretty darn close. Elsewhere in the interview, Aonuma reveals the upcoming Zelda game will have a playable demo at this year's E3, leading me to believe that the game journalists play at the convention will in no way, shape, or form resemble the final retail product. Even though this title's probably been in development for what seems like forever, there just seems to be too much being made of nothing. I mean, there's literally nothing substantial about a man just talking about a game. Screenshots and concept art would go a long way towards legitimizing these claims, but for now, it's all pixie dust and dreams.

Not that I wouldn't be completely jealous of everyone at E3 that got to play the game early. I'm just saying is all.

I don't care if it required an additional Wii that had to be piggybacked, I'd still buy whatever I needed to play the next zelda.
