Nintendo DSi Sells A Lot.

Nintendo's newest handheld, the DSi, sold like it was going to go out of style this past weekend. According to Joystiq, between the United States and the UK, 600K of the units were snatched up faster than the latest Hannah Montana CD. Excuse me while I feign shock.
It should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that the DSi sold more than half-a-million copies in the first few days it was available. Even before this version of the system, Nintendo's handhelds were flying off of shelves at an insane pace. I'm wondering just who on this planet doesn't already own a DS. The sales nearly never slow, and even when they do, it's only because the system is out of stock someplace, so the dip only lasts until the units are replenished at retail.
I can't imagine why Nintendo would ever consider making another system other than this DS thing the kids find so popular. All they have to do is keep finding ways to tweak the system and add just enough to warrant a new version, and BAM! Instant million seller. Whatever they're doing, they're doing it right. Good for them. I'm glad this portable has ended up being such a solid console with a great deal of solid titles. Now, about that other system you guys have...
