Those of you curious how your DS games would be different on the all-new DSi have a bit more of an idea now thanks to Masato Kuwahara. The project leader of the Nintendo DSi hardware group revealed at GDC that there are plans in the works for DSi enhanced game cards.

Don't fret, the games will still work just fine on the old, clunky junker of a DS you have, they'll just have some different features available when plugged into a shiny, new DSi system. Kuwahara added, "For example, you will use these features if you want to create textures from photographs taken with the DSi camera." That's something kind of cool, but I want to know when we can expect the first game to make use of the seemingly useless dual touch screens.

This isn't the first time Nintendo has tried something like this (certain Game Boy Color cartridges anyone?), so I'm not too worried about whether or not they'll be able to pull it off. The only question I have is whether or not there will be an actual purpose to the added features, or if they'll just seemed tacked on.
