Oasis Joins Metallica On World Tour

Fans of Both Bands Rejoice, Riot

by 00.19

Okay, calm down. The two groups aren't really hitting the road together. Instead, it turns out Oasis will be the latest band to release a new album simultaneously in stores and in Guitar Hero World Tour. Since the band's seventh album won't be out until sometime in 2009, Activision and Oasis will be dropping a 3-song pack, featuring their latest single, "The Shock of the Lightning." I forgot Oasis was even still together until I got this news. I'm surprised those Gallagher boys aren't dead, or at least in prison.

I guess this is good news for all you die-hards out there. Personally, I'm giving this news my "Shoulder Shrug of the Week." The new record isn't even out until next year, but they're already touting the release for DLC. Next thing you know, bands that aren't even in the studio yet will be announcing plans for their next album to be made available through DLC without even having cut a track. Not quite sure how I feel about that just yet. Only time will tell. You can find the full press release below.
