Another forty-plus comics drop this week on the PlayStation Store. Though the week’s not exactly brimming with quality, there’s still some stuff worth checking out.

It had to happen eventually, but this week is the week that the PSP’s comic store has way more duds than good reads. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few books definitely worth getting like GI Joe: Cobra #4 and either of the Daredevil books, but man there is so much Chuck Austen on this list that it’s almost impossible to find the silver lining. Seriously, the bulk of the Marvel comics this week are all written by Austen, and he isn’t exactly known for his stellar storylines. It’s disappointing that this weak is so full of weak sauce, but it’s also completely understandable that not every week is going to be full of “must haves.”

Aside from a huge amount of Disney-related books, there isn’t much else to talk about. Hopefully next week’s offering is a bit stronger, and gives me more reasons to believe in the digital comic format. Next week’s unveiling of the rumored Apple tablet could change the game, and I’m excited to see what happens next.
