Rumor: Gran Turismo 5 To Go Multiplatform
SCEA Says It Depends On What Makes The Most Sense.
by 00.19

As another day passes we move closer to Gran Turismo 5's as-yet-to-be-determined released date, and the men behind the game are finally starting to open up about the sim racer. According to John Holler, SCEA's director of hardware marketing, the publisher is "... looking at GT5 across all platforms, just to see what makes the most sense."
I know it may sound strange that a game published by Sony which has been exclusive to Sony consoles over its entire existence could be brought over to another platform, but maybe Sony's trying to have their cake and eat it too. Even if they publish the game on another console, maybe not at the same time (they could do one of those delayed exclusive releases), Sony still gets the money since it's their game. Not only do they get the people buying it on their console (and hopefully the people who've been waiting to buy the PS3 when this game comes out), but they grab a piece of the Xbox pie.
Of course, this Holler guy could just be talking out his ass. I actually find the whole idea pretty ridiculous, and even though I just hypothesized in the previous paragraph what might be the reasoning behind the comment, I can't for one second actually believe that Sony would publish a game for a competitor's console. If anyone out there can think of an instance where a company still producing hardware published a former exclusive on a rival system, please let me know. Sega doesn't count since they were basically finished making new hardware by the time they started publishing for everyone else's more successful consoles. The Zelda games for CD-i don't count either since they weren't published by Nintendo. I guess there's a first time for everything, but I really don't see this happening.

Real simple: this is not going to happen. GT is Sony's golden goose, there's no way they'd let it down the beanstalk.

@Sean: As much as I'd love for it to be true, yeah, not happening. So not. So so not.
Money is good, but this doesn't make sense...
