New Teaser Trailer Showcases UFC 97 Fights

IGN is reporting that a demo for THQ's upcoming UFC 2009 Undisputed will be hitting next-gen consoles next Wednesday, the twenty-third. This weekend's PPV, UFC 97: Redemption, features fights between Andersen Silva and Thales Leites, as well as Chuck Liddell and Mauricio Rua, and gamers will supposedly be able to play out the Liddell vs Rua fight in the demo.
This latest teaser trailer from THQ gives fans a brief glimpse into this weekend's event, and it reveals a few more of the fighters from the game's roster. I'm glad we're finally going to be able to get our hands on the game because I've been curious (read: worried) about just how well this latest entry into the unremarkable UFC gaming franchise was going to handle. Previous incarnations like Sudden Impact were nothing more than button-mashing fests that did little to replicate the actual finesse and strategy used inside the octagon. I'm hoping that the length of time THQ has spent developing this game provide gamers with a much more accurate representation of mixed martial arts.
The game is due to arrive May 20, just days before their next PPV (UFC 98), so my anticipation for this game is reaching its peak. I'm a huge fan of the UFC, and I'm really hoping THQ delivers a game that I'm going to be playing for months. I guess we'll get an idea next week.
