Ted Nugent Teams With Guitar Hero
The Nuge Wango Tangoes Into Your Living Room
by 00.19
If you happen to live in Detroit, you may have caught Ted Nugent on the Mike in the Morning Show last week. For those of us not living in the Motor City, the Nuge himself broke the news he was busy motion capturing for a new Guitar Hero game. You can listen to the whole interview here (the game is mentioned about 12:30 in). While he doesn’t actually mention which Guitar Hero he’ll be appearing in, he does let slip the mo-cap was for a performance of “Stranglehold,” and all signs point to his virtual shredding appearing in Guitar Hero IV.
This of course breaks my heart. As much as I loved Guitar Hero four years ago, Rock Band has supplanted it in my house. Hopefully, like Black Sabbath before him, the Motor City Madman will allow Harmonix to use his tunes as well. ”Stranglehold” would be such and amazing song to play with all four instruments. So would “Stormtroopin” or “Cat Scratch Fever,” but “Stranglehold”’s nearly 9-minute jam is what really makes it the premiere Ted Nugent song.
I hope Activision brings more "Legends" to the fold in the next installment. The Nuge is a good start, but to sway me from Rock Band, they're going to have to come strong next time around.
