*Note to readers: My family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve
‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the house,
my family was settling in
for a night with a grouch.
The presents were coming
To the left and to the right,
But all I could think of
Was how lame the gifts were this night.
Until finally, I found it
A gift just for me
NFL Quarterback Club 98 for the N64
I shouted with glee.
I hadn’t gotten the system yet
Its box couldn’t be far behind
But for the rest of the gifts
No 64 was to be mine.
I sat disappointed
As my cousins got even more
Left alone and broken hearted
I moped on the floor.
My frustrations apparent
As my family looked on
Whispers were spoken
“This is boring,” I yawned
All the gifts had been shared
I got the least of them all
My cousins got plenty
I fought back the urge to bawl

And then out of nowhere
My mother entered the room
Pushed a large bag in my face claiming
“Here, this should clear your gloom.”
What was it to be?
My excitement ran wild
Was this part of her plan,
Keeping me waiting all the while?
My family looked on
And as I opened the bag
My eyes grew three sizes
No longer would they sag
Behold the PlayStation
It’s grey shell held my eyes
“Thank you so much,”
Finally, my prize.
No longer a bad attitude
My family rejoiced.
“Man, you can be a little shit,”
My mother promptly voiced.
Her words held no meaning
My focus was gone
I was off to hook up
My PlayStation one.

Haha, what a jerk you were! Oh wait, you still are a grump.
lol, i like it
So you got NFL QB Club for the N64 and a PS1? Did I read that right? What terrible parents...
It wasn't my parents' fault. My grandfather didn't know the difference, and bought the wrong thing, inadvertently spoiling the surprise as well.
lolz...
