This week on Read This Now!, I break out one of the big guns. I consider myself an Alan Moore fan. When he and Wildstorm teamed to start the America’s Best Comics imprint, which was a series of books written entirely by Moore and drawn by some of the industry’s biggest talents, I could not wait for the first issues of titles like Top Ten, Tom Strong, and Promethea to arrive. Out of the entire line, Tom Strong has always resonated with me the most. Perhaps it’s the science-fiction pulp hero aesthetic. Perhaps it’s the wonderful way Chris Sprouse and Karl Story realize Moore’s world. Perhaps it’s a combination of the two. All I know is Tom Strong is one of my favorite comics of all time, and I hope it becomes one of yours after you start reading it.
